Hideous human nature

This incident took place a few days ago at a PG where I live. There are about 15-20 girls living here. The PG owner also runs a catering service and to support it they have a few workers including a Nepali family working for them. This family consists of a mother, father and their one-year old daughter Anju. Anju's parents are good looking and no one can tell that they're domestic helpers. Anju had inherited her parents features. Fair, chubby and cute, she easily attracts attention is usually petted and pampered by everyone including girls in the PG, all workers, the PG owner and his family.

It so happened that recently, another Nepali family moved in. The new family consisted of a father mother and 2 children, a three-year old girl and a year old boy. All four of them looked pale, thin and not so attractive. Every morning it was like a routine, all three kids would start crying in chorus. The PG owner or workers would immediately try to pacify Anju. The other two kids would be left to cry their lungs out. Their parents busy working in the kitchen found it difficult to attend to them everyday. These kids would keep crying and the irritated workers would shuttle them from one place to another.

One such morning, when I stepped out of my room and walked towards the kitchen to get some breakfast, I witnessed something that left me  dumbfounded. At the corner of the building, I saw the three year old girl crying and beside her was the PG owner. He was shooing her away, tellin her to get lost and was pinching her on the face near the eyes, while the kid howled in pain. I stopped there, my jaw dropped, eyes wide with shock. When the man saw me, he jumped and hurried away. All the respect that I had for this man came crashing down in that one minute.

What I had just seen, was very disturbing. On one side, there was Anju whom they treated like a princess, they would do anything to make her happy, reason - she was fair skinned and good looking. Whereas on the other, there were these two kids, who instead of being loved, were being abused, just because they didn't look attractive enough? The PG owner is an educated man,  the way he carries himself and speaks to his customers is very refined and professional. He himself has 2 daughters. I was shocked to see his this side of him. What bothers me most is, how did he have the heart to do such a thing to a helpless little soul. Not even animals behave this way. It still surprises me that not looking good can inspire such hideous behaviour in humans.

In Loving Memory

This is one beautiful song by Alterbridge..

Thanks for all you've done
I've missed you for so long
I can't believe you're gone
You still live in me
I feel you in the wind
You guide me constantly

I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
And ill come home and I miss your face so
Smiling down on me
I close my eyes to see

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me
I carry the things that remind me of you
In loving memory of
The one that was so true
Your were as kind as you could be
And even though you're gone
You still mean the world to me

I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
But now I come home and it's not the same, no
It feels empty and alone
I can't believe you're gone

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me

I'm glad he set you free from sorrow
I'll still love you more tomorrow
And you will be here with me still
And what you did you did with feeling
And You always found the meaning
And you always will
And you always will
And you always will

Ooo's

And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me

Reminisce - 2010

Its been a long time since my last post, it would be a lie if I said I was too busy to put up a new post because the busiest of people find time for everything, er but do they really do? Anyway, as a start let me reminisce last year - 2010 .

The new year celebrations at office were good, some of us stayed back to watch the movie 2012 on a projector. The movie made me imagine the clock striking 12 that night, huge tidal waves arising in the oceans, panic stricken people running for their lives and the waves descending on land to destroy everything. It sent chills through my spine! I was alone that new year,so just went back home and slept. Its pretty silly, but I was happy and relieved on the 1st of January 2010, after all, the world did not end !

January made one my very close friend's leave town. February brought me face to face with an old friend. March and April gave me time to relax. May surprised me by sending me off to Muscat, Oman. That was my very first trip to a different country. Had a lot of fun inspite the back-breaking work. Also received one of the best surprises I've ever had. September took me to Norway, home of the Vikings. The geographical and climatic differences of the two countries were drastic, im happy to be opportune enough to visit both. November and December had more travel in store. The year was not so bad afterall...what the hell, it was awesome !!!

Looking forward to what the new year has in store and wishing everyone good health, prosperity and strength to withstand troubles of all kinds.

Good Luck !!
