So many years have passed since I even had the time to blog. A lot has happened. I am married, I relocated and I also have a 5 year old now. I've decided now to rant about life in general through the very unconventional blogger, instead of Facebook or Instagram. I prefer being discreet in my own way ;)

Hideous human nature
This incident took place a few days ago at a PG where I live. There are about 15-20 girls living here. The PG owner also runs a catering service and to support it they have a few workers including a Nepali family working for them. This family consists of a mother, father and their one-year old daughter Anju. Anju's parents are good looking and no one can tell that they're domestic helpers. Anju had inherited her parents features. Fair, chubby and cute, she easily attracts attention is usually petted and pampered by everyone including girls in the PG, all workers, the PG owner and his family.
It so happened that recently, another Nepali family moved in. The new family consisted of a father mother and 2 children, a three-year old girl and a year old boy. All four of them looked pale, thin and not so attractive. Every morning it was like a routine, all three kids would start crying in chorus. The PG owner or workers would immediately try to pacify Anju. The other two kids would be left to cry their lungs out. Their parents busy working in the kitchen found it difficult to attend to them everyday. These kids would keep crying and the irritated workers would shuttle them from one place to another.
One such morning, when I stepped out of my room and walked towards the kitchen to get some breakfast, I witnessed something that left me dumbfounded. At the corner of the building, I saw the three year old girl crying and beside her was the PG owner. He was shooing her away, tellin her to get lost and was pinching her on the face near the eyes, while the kid howled in pain. I stopped there, my jaw dropped, eyes wide with shock. When the man saw me, he jumped and hurried away. All the respect that I had for this man came crashing down in that one minute.
What I had just seen, was very disturbing. On one side, there was Anju whom they treated like a princess, they would do anything to make her happy, reason - she was fair skinned and good looking. Whereas on the other, there were these two kids, who instead of being loved, were being abused, just because they didn't look attractive enough? The PG owner is an educated man, the way he carries himself and speaks to his customers is very refined and professional. He himself has 2 daughters. I was shocked to see his this side of him. What bothers me most is, how did he have the heart to do such a thing to a helpless little soul. Not even animals behave this way. It still surprises me that not looking good can inspire such hideous behaviour in humans.

In Loving Memory
This is one beautiful song by Alterbridge..
Thanks for all you've done
I've missed you for so long
I can't believe you're gone
You still live in me
I feel you in the wind
You guide me constantly
I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
And ill come home and I miss your face so
Smiling down on me
I close my eyes to see
And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me
I carry the things that remind me of you
In loving memory of
The one that was so true
Your were as kind as you could be
And even though you're gone
You still mean the world to me
I've never knew what it was to be alone, no
Cause you were always there for me
You were always there waiting
But now I come home and it's not the same, no
It feels empty and alone
I can't believe you're gone
And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on
I sing tonight cause it comforts me
I'm glad he set you free from sorrow
I'll still love you more tomorrow
And you will be here with me still
And what you did you did with feeling
And You always found the meaning
And you always will
And you always will
And you always will
Ooo's
And I know, you're a part of me
And it's your song that sets me free
I sing it while I feel I can't hold on

Reminisce - 2010
Its been a long time since my last post, it would be a lie if I said I was too busy to put up a new post because the busiest of people find time for everything, er but do they really do? Anyway, as a start let me reminisce last year - 2010 .
The new year celebrations at office were good, some of us stayed back to watch the movie 2012 on a projector. The movie made me imagine the clock striking 12 that night, huge tidal waves arising in the oceans, panic stricken people running for their lives and the waves descending on land to destroy everything. It sent chills through my spine! I was alone that new year,so just went back home and slept. Its pretty silly, but I was happy and relieved on the 1st of January 2010, after all, the world did not end !
January made one my very close friend's leave town. February brought me face to face with an old friend. March and April gave me time to relax. May surprised me by sending me off to Muscat, Oman. That was my very first trip to a different country. Had a lot of fun inspite the back-breaking work. Also received one of the best surprises I've ever had. September took me to Norway, home of the Vikings. The geographical and climatic differences of the two countries were drastic, im happy to be opportune enough to visit both. November and December had more travel in store. The year was not so bad afterall...what the hell, it was awesome !!!
Looking forward to what the new year has in store and wishing everyone good health, prosperity and strength to withstand troubles of all kinds.
Good Luck !!

Quoting the difference
"The difference between a man's love and woman's love - Man's love is an ocean in the beginning, over time it reduces to a drop whereas, a woman's love is a drop in the beginning, which over time evolves into an ocean."

The incomprehensible
It so happens that many a times a few very weird comprehensions simply come to me. It happens unpredictably,at the most unlikely times, like when i'm opening a door, or am on my way to office, or while i'm just doing my hair...
This one is the latest...
Everything in this universe gets balanced, good and bad, chemical equations, low pressure and high pressure, even human emotions, fate is an enormous balancing act of which every single being living or dead is a part. We believe in chemical equations, we understand that a vacuum always gets filled, that low pressure attracts storm, hot air rises, earth is in the milky way because of the sun's gravitational force, why don't we try and understand those things that science failed to prove. That life itself is an equation. Everything is interlinked. Events happening in one's life for that matter, every single incident is interrelated, one's happiness is at the cost of another's sorrow, one's success is at the cost of another's failure.A person's travel schedule for example is a result of certain energies that draw him towards it, for a purpose. We fail to understand this enormous cosmic phenomenon and even if we do,our strength is too miniscule an entity to counteract anyway. We are mere puppets and destiny has the strings.
Freaked eh ? ;p

In love with groundnuts
My Dad has a craze for groundnuts. It so happened that one afternoon, he was lazing in front of the TV and relishing groundnuts. Mom sat beside him reading the paper, so Dad tried his level best to be careful not to drop the peels on the floor. He twisted the nuts to peel off the skin and very carefully put the peels on a piece of paper on the teapoy in front of him. After a while he was almost done with the nuts. I was surprised at how he hadn't dropped even a bit of it on the floor. Alas, I heard a thunderous sneeze and the next thing I could see was groundnut peels on my mom's head. Mom's expression... not any different from the pic here...

New Moon - The Movie
Time for Twilight sequel - New Moon...
The curtains rise with Bella's birthday. At the party at Cullens' residence, Bella accidentally cuts herself, the sight and smell of Bella's blood makes Jasper lose control and the party ends. Realizing the threat he and his family posed, Edward decides to break-up with Bella. The Cullens leave Forks and Bella goes into depression.
After a couple of months, trying to get back on her feet,Bella goes out
with Jessica, that's when she sees the same rogues who'd troubled her once. The sight of danger gives her visionsof Edward, which only drives her towards being more reckless, hoping that she could at least see him.
Bella starts exploring bikes with Jacob and eventually finds some comfort in him. But one day, she discovers the truth about Jacob and his pack of friends, that they were werewolves. While Jake (Jacob) and his friends try hunting down Victoria, Bella finds herself drowned in lonliness once again. She jumps off a cliff near the sea, expecting to see Edward. Luckily, Jake saves her both from drowning and Victoria.
In the meanwhile, Alice has a vision of Bella jumping off a cliff and rushes to Forks. As they catch up on happenings, Edward thinks Bella's dead and decides to end his life by requesting the Volturi. Alice and Bella hurry to Volterra to stop Edward. After twist and turn of events they all manage to leave Volterra unhurt.
Jake who had fallen in love with Bella tries to talk her out of becoming a Vampire, when Bella tells him that she loves him but for her, it had always been Edward.Feeling dejected, Jake leaves and the curtains fall with the following beautiful lines...
In the woods, after Jake leaves...
Edward- "You're right, you shouldn't become what I am."
Bella- "We can't do this alone."
Edward- "Then please just wait... Just give me five years."
Bella- "That's too long."
Edward- "Then three..."
Bella nods in disapproval.
Edward- "You're so stubborn..."
Bella- "What are you waiting for?"
Edward- Smiles and says"... I have one condition;if you want me to do it myself..."
Bella- "Whats the condition?"
Edward- "...and then forever."
Bella- "That's what i'm asking."
Edward- "Marry me, Bella..."
To readers : I'm sorry I couldn't help putting up such a long post. I'm mesmerized!!

Religious cross-link ?
I have been reading the novel, "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. This book was actually gifted to me by a dear friend. After reading 49 pages, a paragraph on the 50th page caught my attention. These lines are really amazing...
"Hindus, in their capacity for love are indeed hairless Christians, just as Muslims, in the way they see God in everything, are bearded Hindus, and Christians, in their devotion to God, are hat-wearing Muslims."

My very first poem !!
It so happens that sometimes when the human brain is under pressure to deliver results, hidden talents get exposed. In my case an extempore poem competition during the Friday Fun Time did it ! So here goes...
Life In IT
I wake up at 6 in the morning,
At office I find myself yawning,
For 20 hrs I'm forced to code,
No one understands I'm really bored.
There's no time even to have lunch,
I feel like giving my manager a punch.
I earn so much money,
But dont even have time for honey.
Life in IT,
Is like SHIT.
Not bad for a beginner ;)

For men from the 16th century
At last, I finally found the time to get back to this one. This is in response to a 'male chauvinistic' post by a friend of mine from the 16th century. From now on I shall refer to him as 'Shrek'.
First of all, Mr. Shrek, wake up, we're living in the 21st century.
Why is a woman's dress sense bothering Shrek so much? Probably because the sight of a female distracts him or maybe poor thing's just extremely frustrated. But come on, he's definitely not thinking of 'that' :p
Secondly, Yes, men do stare, irrespective of what a woman may wear, its a known fact. Not wearing a dupatta properly is indecent, then I guess a saree (which has ventilators in abundance) has to be the most indecent costume, but Mr. Shrek doesn't find it 'obscene'. His description of a girls dress sense sounds like as though there are clones of Pamela Anderson from Baywatch out there who seem to threaten him. But hey, wait a minute, I guess being a female is itself indecent !!
Talking about decency, what do you call men who stop by almost anywhere, even the busiest streets to attend nature's call? Or those men who never miss a chance to grope around? Is this how men display decency?
There are also normal men. This clan of men do not expect women to dress like as though they've been just honoured by draping a shawl around them at an awards ceremony. These men see women, first as human beings , respect them and accept them as they are. These are men who think of their mother, sister or daughter before degrading a woman for any reason whatsoever. My hats off to this clan of men.
P.S.: No Offence Meant :P !!

Women's day special
This is one of my favourite quotes from a movie (I've changed it a lil bit to suit me). I'm dedicating it to all women.
"Research has proved that women have more chances of being attacked by a terrorist, than getting married. But now things have changed, women have no time to get married and terrorists are part of our lives !!"
;) How true

This time
The lyrics of one of my favourite tracks by Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
Tonight the sky above
Reminds me how to love
Walking through wintertime, the stars all shine
The angel on the stairs
Will tell you I was there
Under the front porch light
On the mistery night
I’ve been sitting, watching life pass from the sidelines
Been waiting for a dream to seep in through my blinds
I wondered what might happen if I left this all behind
Would the wind be at my back
Could I get you off my mind
This time
The neon lights and bars
And headlights from the cars
Started a symphony surrounding me
The things I left behind
Have melted in my mind
And now there’s a purity inside of me
I’ve been sitting, watching life pass from the sidelines
Been waiting for a dream to seep in through my blinds
I wondered what might happen if I left this all behind
Would the wind be at my back
Could I get you off my mind
This time

Twilight - The movie
I'd been just lazing around during the weekend when I decided to watch "Twilight". The movie was released long back, when work and other not-so-important things kept me from accessing it, I really regret not being able to go to the cinemas' then. Everything about the movie "invited me in", the story, screenplay, the background score. I'm a die-hard romantic and "Twilight" simply swept me off my feet! Moreover, I wouldn't mind falling for a vampire like that ;)
Here are some of my favourite lines:
At the restaurant, after Edward rescues Bella from the bad guys..
Bella - "Did you follow me?"
Edward- "I feel very protective of you."
Bella - "So you followed me."
Edward- "I was trying to keep a distance, unless you needed my help and then I hear what those low-lives were thinking..."
Bella - "Wait.. you said you heard what they were thinking?... So what? You read minds?"
Edward- "I can read every mind in this room apart from yours. Its very frustrating."
Bella - "Is there something wrong with me?"
Edward- "I told you I can read minds, I didn't say something's wrong with you!!", Sighs.
Bella - "What is it?"
Edward- "I don't have the strength, to stay away from you anymore."
Bella - "...Then don't..."
When Bella confronts Edward with the fact that he's a vampire...
Edward- "I can't read your mind. You should tell me what you're thinking."
Bella - "Now i'm afraid...."
Edward- "Good...", Sighs.
Bella - "I'm not afraid of you, i'm only afraid of losing you, what if you suddenly disappear..."
Edward- "You don't know how long i've waited for you...So a lion fell in love with a lamb"
Bella thinking aloud...
"About three things I was absolutely positive. First Edward was a vampire.Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be,that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."
At the hospital..
Edward- "You should go to Jacksonville..."
Bella - "What?!..."
Edward- "I can't hurt you anymore.."
Bella - "Nno.. no.. you... you can't say things like that to me ... ever.. !!"
Edward- Smiling and kissing Bella's forehead,"Where else would I go..."
Edward reminds me of someone I know really well. This post is dedicated to you.
